I had my first dog, Sky; a Lurcher puppy at 8 years old. And since then, my family and I have rarely been without a four-legged friend.
It came as no surprise to anyone then, when after working as a wilderness expedition guide and outdoor skills instructor, I decided to join the Police and ended up working as a Firearms Officer and ultimately, a Police Dog Handler.
Training a Police Dog showed me what was possible when working with and training dogs. And as this passion grew I decided to leave the Police to pursue this passion full time. I am lucky that my sidekick Police Dog Leo stayed with me and is now one of Origin’s role model dogs. But one dog is never enough so soon after, our working Labrador, Indy, joined the family too.
I always want your dog, and you, to be in safe hands so on top of my Police Dog Handler qualifications I am also a qualified Dog Trainer, Canine First Aid Instructor and completed the equivalent of a Master’s Degree in Canine Behaviour.
Every dog has a different personality and different needs, as does every owner. I’m excited to find out more about yours.
